1971 National League Replay

This replay was done using the SI Superstar Baseball game. I played each game and managed each team. The Dodgers had a relatively easy time clinching the pennant in the West but Pittsburgh had to overcome a monumental comeback by the St. Louis Cardinals to win the Eastern crown. Pittsburgh led the East from day one and had leads of up to 10 games. St. Louis went on a huge win streak at the end of the season and actually climbed into first place with two games to go. Unfortunately, those two games were against Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh won both of them and ended up in first place.

Hank Aaron

Hank Aaron slammed 62 homeruns to break Roger Maris' 162 game homerun record set in 1961. Hank hit his 62nd homerun in game number 161. He was easily voted the MVP even though several others had outstanding seasons.
